Donna’s Coffee Shop Stops in New York City

Donna’s Coffee Shop Stops in New York City

(Keep in touch, this guide will be one that we continually update with new hot spot finds!)

Cafe Grumpy– Chelsea, Manhattan- 224 West 20th Street

Café Grumpy Chelsea opened in 2006 on a unique tree-lined block. Our customers were the first in NYC to be offered a menu of coffees to choose from, all brewed by the cup.

This location is the perfect space to meet up with a friend, read the paper, or people and puppy watch on the benches outside. During the Spring and Summer, you can also enjoy your coffee outside in our back garden.

While investigating Harlem for several buyers, we enjoyed people watching in these coffee shops:

Lenox Coffee– Central Harlem, West 129th St

Lenox Coffee is a specialty coffee house located in central Harlem, at 60 West 129th Street between 5th Avenue and Lenox Avenue. We serve breakfast items including pastries, baked goods, bagels, sweet breads, and cookies—and we are always expanding our menu including our brand new sandwich options.

The Chipped Cup– West Harlem, Hamilton Heights

Taking inspiration from the Victorian Tea and Coffee Houses of old, the Chipped Cup aims to be a place where the diverse population of Hamilton Heights can come mingle over one of our delicious Espresso Bar drinks or sit quietly plugged in using our free wi-fi to get work done. If sunshine is what you crave: step out into our back garden patio, a tribute to the Victorians love of plants and flowers. We pride ourselves on serving fresh pastries delivered daily from famed chef Laurent Dupal’s bakery as well as crusty bagels and bialy’s from the lower east side’s renown Kossar Bialy’s. Whether you stop by for a delicious Counter Culture-brewed cup of coffee (Fair-Trade/Organic/Delicious) and a buttery croissant to make the start of your work day more bearable or hang out and get to know your Hamilton Heights neighbors – we warmly welcome you into our parlor!

International Real Estate News: Berlin

International Real Estate News: Berlin

Berlin is a hot destination for real estate. There are numerous new developments as well as conversions of older prewar buildings being renovated and updated while retaining its original charm and high ceilings.

I went to Berlin in 2014 to check out the city as as #RealEstate investment opportunity for some clients. If you are looking to diversify, Germany is the only country where affordability is clearly below its long-term average and may rise on the back of higher incomes. Thus, the German market seems to offer good fundamental value on top of its status as a safe haven in the euro crisis. Additionally, Berlin is a hotbed for real estate – chock full of new developments, like older prewar buildings that are being totally converted with new electric, plumbing, roof, Full of charm, high ceilings, what more could you want. This 1900 era is apartment, with high ceilings and old world.

While in Berlin to investigate investment opportunities, I saw this charming apartment conversion in the hot area of Kreuzberg.

And a Bloomberg article discussed how Berlin is becoming a major tourist destination.
